Lupus erythematosus, also called Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks its own tissues. This lead to widespread inflammation and tissue damages in the affected organs. Affected can be the joints, lungs, skin, kidneys, blood vessels or even the brain.
