Hashimoto (also called Hashimoto’s disease or Hashimoto’s thyroiditis) belongs to the group of autoimmune diseases and is a condition in which the immune system attacks the thyroid. The thyroid is a small gland which is part of the endocrine system and produces hormones that coordinate many body’s functions.
