A migraine is a very common type of recurrent headache. Migraine affects three times as many women as men. It is mainly a throbbing headache that typically affects one side of the head but may spread to both sides It may occur with symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, or sensitivity to light and sound. About 20 % of people suffering from a migraine have an aura as first symptom. The aura is a sensory which can include flashes of light, blind spots and other vision changes or tingling in your hand or face.
The causes of migraine are various and not well-known. The trigger of migraine might also include food and drinks such as aged cheese, alcohol, and food additives like e.g. nitrates and monosodium glutamate
