Depression

Depression (also called major depressive disorder) is a common and serious medical illness. It negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act. Depression causes feelings of sadness, negative thinking and/or a loss of interest in activities that were once enjoyed. It can lead to a variety of emotional and physical disorders. A decreased performance  at work and at home are also characteristic for depressed persons. Fortunately, a depression can be treated in most cases.
