Curcumin (E100)

Curcumin, a yellow-orange dye, is formed in the yellow or curcumin root. Similar to saffron, curcumin is not only used to color, but also to season and aromatize. Curcumin is also used to replace the more expensive saffron in: margarine, potato flakes, rice-instant meals, jam, mustard, coloring for curry powder.
