Introduction:
Mare's milk is the milk of female horses. It tastes nutty-sweet and has a thin consistency.
Use/Preparation:
Horse milk can be used as a substitute for cow's milk.
Health:
Horse milk is very good for the skin when used externally. It is used in cosmetics. As a drinking cure it can be helpful for neurodermatitis and other skin diseases. The milk protein casein contained in mare's milk is generally more easily digested than that of cow's milk. The allergenic potential of mare's milk is also lower than that of cow's milk.
Alternatives:
Other types of milk from animals such as cow's milk, goat's milk or sheep's milk, or plant-based alternatives made from almond, oat, coconut, cashew, spelt, hazelnut, soy or pea.
