The lobster meat of the body and of the scissors is much appreciated and is considered a delicacy. On the German market, one can find either the German lobster or the imported “American lobsters” from the U.S. or Canada .
Furthermore, lobsters are processed to a paste, which usually also contains additions of other crustaceans or artificially produced white protein. Before purchasing, you should carefully read the list of ingredients.
Possible cross reaction: Lobsters belong to the so called molluscs and are high in tropomyosin, the main allergen of the dust mite. People who are allergic or sensitised to dust mites can react to lobsters without ever having eaten one.
