The cardiovascular system (also called blood-vascular) is a closed circulatory system of humans and other vertebrates. It consists of the heart, as muscular pumping device, and a system of vessels devided into arteries, veins, and capillaries. The blood contained in the circulatory system is pumped continuously by the heart around this closed circle.
